Graduated from Washburn University in 1985 with a BBA in Finance and never left Topeka. Met my husband at WU and we married in 1989. Worked in the corporate world until my youngest daughter was one. I was a stay a home mom for 12 years. I volunteered many hours in the schools so they asked if I wanted to work at the middle school as a para. Worked in the school system for 16 years in various para capacities. Library, SPED, technology, and in the counseling department. I retired in May 2021 but as the school year approached I knew I would miss the students. I am now substitute teaching for the district 3-4 days a week. When I am not working, I spend as much time as possible with my family and two grandchildren.
